I recently had the chance
to put together a bridal portrait shoot to add images to my portfolio. Part of putting the shoot together was gathering details to help build the bridal aspect of the story. I was fortunate enough to come across some truly spectacular vendors in the great Norfolk/Virginia Beach area and cannot thank everyone who participated enough!
Our model Bride’s wedding isn’t until July. So, in order to help preserve some of the surprises for her wedding day I won’t be sharing any photographs with her face. But I will share some of the detail photos that I captured.
Not only are the cakes from Whipped Up by Mimi adorable and the perfect option for those brides & grooms not interested in a full on tiered wedding cake, but they were amazingly delicious. I may order more from her just to have them as treats around my house they were so good!
Let me just take a quick minute to tell you about The Main Event by Emily & Cindy. I got their name from a photography group that I am in and I could not be more thrilled that I contacted Emily to handle the florals for the shoot! She went above and beyond in getting us a stunning bouquet. In fact, she brought options! I am thrilled to have worked with her and hope we have the opportunity to work together again in the future.
You may remember the sneak peek we posted a little while ago of a rose with a ring and pearls. That shot was from this shoot and is probably one of my favorites. The funny thing is that the set-up for that shot was just kind of thrown together on a whim – glad I did it!
I would like to say a big Thank You to everyone involved:
Studio: Back Bay Photography Studio
Hair & Make-up: Kaitlyn Pate
Florals: The Main Event by Emily & Cindy
Cakes: Whipped Up by Mimi
I’d also like to give a quick shout out to Maddie of Maddie Ray Photography for coming along to assist me the day of the shoot! I had originally planned to head outside, but the weather prevented us from doing that. Maddie did a great job putting the floral addition to the cakes together along with other odds and ends throughout the shoot. Maddie has moved back to Texas while she finishes up her teaching degree. Thank you for your help and best of luck with finishing your degree girl!
